Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to questions asked to our customer service, practical tips for feeding your dog with PLATINUM dog food prepared with FSG and for feeding your cat with MeatCrisp from the Freshmeatdryer.

Cat Food

Neutering a cat is also associated with a change in hormones, which is why your cat's metabolism changes and can lead to obesity. Being overweight can lead to serious secondary diseases, which is why regular weight monitoring is advisable. If your cat tends to be overweight or needs to lose weight, regardless of the cause, it is usually not enough simply to reduce the amount of food they eat — as you will also be reducing important nutrients. A lower-calorie food such as MeatCrisp Sterilised is suitable for this.

Fresh meat has a higher nutritional content, a higher biological value, and a higher protein digestibility compared to meat and bone meals, which are usually used in conventional cat food. Furthermore, meat and bone meal do not contain the nutritious flavour carrier fat and nutrient-rich meat juices, which are present in fresh meat. This is due to the effect of high temperatures during the production of meat and bone meal. This negative effect is exacerbated in conventional feed production, as the extrusion process most commonly used involves high temperatures combined with high pressure. MeatCrisp, on the other hand, is prepared using a fresh meat dryer. This is the first time that it has been possible to prepare a complete dry food for cats from fresh meat. The extraordinary thing about the fresh meat dryer is that it preserves the natural micronutrients and amino acids of the fresh meat. This is because the fresh meat dryer crisps the fresh meat with other ingredients that are important for cat health at a low temperature and with circulating air. The slow and even drying process preserves the natural flavour of the meat as well as the right nutritional composition for your cat's health. MeatCrisp is therefore extremely tasty for your cat — even without attractants.

Taurine is an essential amino acid for cats. This means that the cat cannot produce this amino acid itself and must take it in with the food. The amount of taurine contained in MeatCrisp meets the needs of a healthy cat.

Cats love MeatCrisp and stick with it. If your cat is not one of them and, against expectations, does not like the food, you can take advantage of our 100-day money-back guarantee.

Care

No, SkinCare does not contain any alcohol: thanks to the preservative effect of olive oil and natural beeswax, we can completely dispense with preservatives.

For our PLATINUM SkinCare, we deliberately use only natural, traditionally proven ingredients that are gently processed to create our balm. This means that it is very well tolerated by four-legged friends.

The difference lies in the concentration. If your pet has acute tartar, we recommend OralClean+Care Forte. If you would like to use OralClean+Care for dental care or your pet has light tartar, we recommend OralClean+Care Classic.

OralClean+Care has a shelf life of 30 - 36 months unopened after production and 12 months after opening.

SkinCare can be kept unopened and opened for 6 months after production.

SkinCare can be used on small abrasions or patches of dry skin. Of course, your pet's body will take care of healing injured skin itself. However, a wound ointment can ensure that the healing process is faster, more effective, and does not entail any complications.

When applying the product, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly beforehand and/or use disposable gloves or a soft spatula.

You can find detailed information on application here.

The duration of treatment depends on the following criteria, among others: breed, weight, consistency of the tartar, predisposition, hereditary predisposition, diet. It is difficult to give a generalised time estimate due to the numerous factors involved. If used correctly and consistently (important: twice a day, otherwise the tartar will harden again), experience has shown that the removal of tartar takes 3 to 8 weeks, and in some cases even longer.

If you do not notice any change in the tartar after 3 weeks, please contact us by telephone on our free hotline, 0800 3643663 (0800 DOGFOOD).
